Japanese World Heritages

I searched for imformation about Japanese world heritage to compare with New Zealand's one. There are 14 places specified as world heritage in Japan. So I would like to introduce two of it.



The Atomic Bomb Dome

In 1945 August 6th, an atomic bomb was thrown down in Hiroshima city. That atomic bomb sprinkled radiation and killed a lot of people. And because of locating just under the bomb, one dome left the form. That dome was built as museum, but after the throwing down that bomb that has been called The Atomic Bomb Dome. 1960, A peace movement person started to protect the dome in order to showing how pitiful the atomic bomb was. Six years later, 1966, that dome was specified as world heritage and many tourist visit there now.

Rouan-ji
Next, The famous temple in Kyoto, Ryouan ji. Here is the site how to get to there. And if you want to know more about this temple's history, click here.
This temple is made by Hosokawa Katsumoto in 1450, and famous for the beautiful garden. The small stones in this garden are set to represent hills and waters. So there are no pond and water.
The main building of this was burnt in fire in 1797, however, after that the main temple was transferred another one in this temple. And now that building is specified as world heritage.
